Thank You for Visiting R. Bailey Photography

About Me
Growing up in Wisconsin, I was always interested in photography. I remember when my family and I would go on vacation my brothers and I would be allowed to get one disposable camera to take with us. With a disposable camera, I was only given so many shots to capture the moment. I wanted to make sure I had the best shot in my view finder before I pressed the trigger. In high school I took as many art classes possible to hone my skill set. After high school I left for the United States Army.

After another deployment to Iraq and a deployment to Afghanistan, My wife and I welcomed our son to this world. Once my son was born I started to buy nicer cameras and equipment. I never wanted to lose the little moments I could capture on my camera.

During my time in the Army, I was stationed in Germany and Fort Knox. I married my grade school sweetheart after my first deployment to Ramadi Iraq in 2007, and that was when I started to become passionate about photography. I wanted to capture all our moments together.

In 2013 I went on my last deployment to Afghanistan and was medically retired in 2015. Being deployed four times in eight years was difficult, and being wounded multiple times you learn that you only have this one chance. I wanted to live my life to the fullest, and help others see that as well.

After moving to Iowa in 2015, I wanted to start a photography business to help others capture the moments and create memories. After two years of research, classes, and buying better equipment, I started R. Bailey Photography.
Never miss your chance to capture the moment.
